Notes from SPONY’s Live Event on January 28th

Welcome to SPONY
A monthly event since April, 2007, SPONY offers a forum where professional songwriters have an opportunity to pitch a song to industry players, all of whose job descriptions include looking for songs and/or songwriting talent. The distinguished list of past panelists includes executives from EMI, Warner, Sony/ATV, Bad Boy, Universal, MTV, Cherry Lane, ABC, the CW, independent music supervisors, music production libraries, and ad agencies. And we're especially proud of the amazing number of success stories.
SPONY is now going global! — finally offering those songwriters who don't live in the New York area a chance to participate. The first event will be a live-stream, real-time panel on “What's ‘Write’ for Film and TV,” which, in addition to the chance to get your song heard on-air, will offer an overview of how the industry works, what music supervisors are looking for, standard deals, and how to break in. Our Chat Room will be open and available to the participants, as well as an opportunity to send in a question for the panelists for the Q&A portion of the program.
