MTV AND VH1 SPECIAL EDITION!
Four executives from MTV and VH1 will be on hand. They are looking for songs and instrumentals which are FULLY-PRODUCED and contain NO SAMPLES. In addition they have provided the following guidelines:
“…are from the News and Docs Division. We are looking for a wide variety of genres including indie rock, singer-songwriter, hip hop, electronic with lyrical themes ranging from relationships, night out on the town, inspirational, overcoming obstacles, etc. Most of our programming is documentary-based so we use a lot of instrumentals as well as vocals. A lot of the time we’re looking for subtle, sparse, and minimal music as oppose to something really big and over the top.”
And
“We are always looking for a variety of music. Most of the series we are currently working on lean towards pop, R&B and hip-hop with themes about relationships, friendships, independence, and drama. We would love to find some great vocals – all tempos, male or female. We are also looking for Retro-Soul (male or female), and female vocals that are moody, textured and ethereal.”
And
“…we’re always on the lookout for new instrumentals (upbeat pop, R&B and hip-hop).”

Please bring with you four copies of the lyric sheet (one for each industry guest) and an additional three copies of your CD to have available in case it’s a Keeper with more than one panelist. Your contact information should be on both the CD and lyric sheet.
