How It Works

IMPORTANT!! HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

A $20 admission fee for every attendee will be collected upon arrival (Cash Only). This entitles the participant to pitch one song in CD format. There is a limit of one song per person.

Please bring with you three copies of the lyric sheet (one for each industry guest) and an additional two copies of your CD to have available in case it’s a Keeper with more than one panelist. Your contact information should be on both the CD and lyric sheet.

Upon entry each song will be assigned a number. This is for anonymity and does not represent in what order the song will be played. Songs will be chosen in grab-bag style with only the number and title of the song announced to the general audience. (Multi-cut CD’s should be clearly marked as to which cut is being pitched. Unmarked CD’s will default to Cut 1.)

Our industry guests will listen to as much or as little of the song as it takes for them to determine if it fits their immediate needs. The format is Pass/Keeper. No critique and no comment. A “Keeper” means that one (or even more!) of our industry reps would like to take the song back to their office for another hearing. There is no guarantee that a deal of any kind will be struck. And, SPONY is only providing the forum. All discussion and/or negotiations will be between the writer(s) and the entity interested in the song.

We will make every effort to ensure that every song is heard, but there is no guarantee given the time constraints. I’m sorry, but there will be no refund and no remedy.

If your song is a Pass and you wish to take back your CD, please see us immediately following the pitch-a-thon. Once the doors close, CDs will not be returned.

THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK!
