How it Works

We will select 75 songs at random (one song per person and/or songwriting team) to play on-air.  The songs will be assigned a number for anonymity.  The panel will listen to as much or as little of each song as it takes for them to know whether or not it has potential for their needs.  This is not a song-judging event.  Each of the panelists is currently working on specific projects, or looking for a certain style of music, and the pitch is made with the hope of landing an actual deal or placement. A Pass here does not necessarily mean that the song is not strong enough, but that the panelists do not believe they will be able to do anything for it.

It is a Pass/Keeper format (although some commentary may be offered as a general overview of what they’re hearing.)  A “Keeper” means that one (or even more!) of our industry reps would like to take the song back to their office for another hearing. There is no guarantee that a deal of any kind will be struck. And, SPONY is only providing the forum. All discussion and/or negotiations will be between the writer(s) and the entity interested in the song.

If there is still time, additional songs will be played.

Good Luck!
